The origins of medical education can be traced back over 700 years to the city of Yazd. However, within an academic context, Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences was established in 1983, initially enrolling 45 medical students. Since its inception, SSU has graduated over 22,000 healthcare professionals in diverse fields of health, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, midwifery, and paramedical sciences.
