Prof. Arkadiusz Jawień, Head of the Department of Vascular Surgery and Angiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Nicolaus Copernicus University (Collegium Medicum), Poland, visited Shahid Sadoughi Hospital in Yazd from May 15 to 17, 2025. He delivered a lecture on the clinical applications of artificial intelligence in clinical sciences focusing on diabetic foot and gestational diabetes at the 11th International Congress and Student Awards of Reproductive Medicine and Reproductive Genetics.

In addition to his presentation, Prof. Jawień participated in clinical discussions with cardiovascular specialists and visited the operating room of Shahid Sadoughi Hospital.

During his visit, meetings were also held with university officials to explore future academic collaborations, including short-term training programs and faculty/student exchange initiatives. He expressed his appreciation for the hospitality and organization of the visit and highlighted the potential for continued cooperation between the two institutions.

Prof. Arkadiusz Jawień is the co-founder and Director of the Centre for Medical Education in English at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Collegium Medicum in Poland. His specialties include general surgery, vascular surgery, and angiology. Prof. Jawień has been awarded the Gloria Medicinae Medal, the highest distinction granted by the Polish Medical Society in 2023.
