According to the University’s Vice President for Research and Technology, the names of ten faculty members from Yazd Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences are included in the latest list of the world’s top 2% of researchers (Highly Cited Researchers), published by Elsevier (for the year 2025).
Prof. Hossein Fallahzadeh, Prof. Mohammad Ali Morowati Sharifabad, Prof. Amirhoushang Mehrparvar, Prof. Amin Salehi Abargouei, Dr. Omid Sadeghi, Dr. Farzan Madadizadeh, Dr. Mehdi Fatahi Bafghi, Dr. Seyed Mohammad Gheibi Hayat, Dr. Sepideh Soltani, and Dr. Bibi-Fatemeh Haghiralsadat are among the top researchers in this list.
Prof. Mehrparvar stated that given the presence of seven faculty members in the 2024 list, the increase in the number of researchers included in this prestigious ranking indicated a remarkable improvement in the international scientific standing of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences in Yazd.
He emphasized that this list is published by Elsevier, one of the world’s largest scientific publishers and the owner of reputable databases such as Scopus. The primary criterion for selecting researchers in this list is the number of citations received by their articles within a specific time period.
