The dissertation defense session of Mr. Mohammad Ajmal Dena, the PhD candidate for Epidemiology, was held on 28 October 2025 (07/08/1404). His dissertation, titled “The association between metabolic syndrome and the risk of COVID-19 morbidity and mortality in the adult population of central Iran,” was supervised by Prof. Masoud Mirzaei.
Mr. Dena, started his PhD studies as the first international PhD student at Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences in 2021, at the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, School of Public Health.
