Established in 2000, the Yazd Cardiovascular Research Center conducts cutting-edge research in cardiovascular diseases at both the clinical and basic science levels. The center has published numerous articles in national and international journals. It is home to clinical departments such as a heart disease prevention clinic and a high-risk patient clinic. The Cardiovascular Biomedicine journal, launched in 2020, is edited by Dr. Seyed Jalil Mirhosseini. The center received in-principal approval on October 20, 2006, and final approval on March 16, 2009, from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education.
Established in 1997, the Diabetes Research and Clinic Center is a leader in diabetes research, education, prevention, and treatment. It received provisional approval in 2003 and final approval in 2009. Key activities include:
- Research: Focuses on prevention, treatment, and lifestyle improvements for diabetic patients.
- Education: Includes student education, workshops, and seminars.
- Prevention: Involves screenings and collaborations to prevent diabetes and related risk factors.
- Treatment: Provides care for over 400 diabetic patients daily, including specialized services like nutritional counseling, eye imaging, and insulin injection training.
- Scientific Publication: Publishes the Iranian Journal of Diabetes and Obesity.
Established on December 15, 2008, the Hematology and Oncology Research Center focuses on applied clinical research in the fields of hematology and cancer. The center received in-principal approval from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education on February 23, 2013. Notable achievements include the launch of the Iranian Journal of Pediatric Hematology Oncology, which is indexed in Thomson Reuters (ISI) database and has an impact factor of 0.4 in 2024.
Iran has been at the forefront of combating the detrimental effects of social determinants of health. The Social Determinants of Health Research Center at Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences received in-principal approval in 2011. Since its inception, it has graduated six PhD students and currently has two PhD students. The center's journal, Social Behavior and Community Health, has been published bi-quarterly since 2017 under the editorship of Dr. Mojtaba Yasini Ardakani.
Established in 2003 under the supervision of Dr. Seyed Mojtabi Yasini, this center focuses on addiction and behavioral sciences, addressing critical societal needs for research on addiction and related issues.
