Who we are?
Yazd Non-Communicable Diseases Research Institute was established by integrating research centers specializing in cardiology, endocrinology, nursing and midwifery care, hematology and oncology, social determinants of health, and addiction and behavioral sciences. The institute plays a pivotal role in conducting research on the above mentioned non-communicable diseases, while also advancing medical research and graduate education in the country.
- Training PhD students and postdoctoral research fellows
- Leading national research projects aligned with the policies of the National Scientific Research Council
- Collaborating with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education on research aimed at controlling non-communicable diseases
- Implementing provincial strategies for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases and associated risk factors
- Conducting research to promote lifestyle changes that reduce the prevalence of major non-communicable diseases in Yazd
- Organizing workshops on relevant subjects including clinical trials, study design, community interventions and other training programs for research capacity building
- Publishing over 1,000 scientific articles in both domestic and international peer reviewed journals
- Adherence to ethical principles in research, with a deep respect for human dignity.
