Research Center for Food Hygiene and Safety, School of Public Health, Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences, Yazd, Iran
One of the most important missions of the research center for food hygiene and safety at Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences, Yazd, is to strengthen, advance, and support research in the production and supply of healthy food and the improvement of community nutrition patterns. A key objective is the application of research findings to enhance dietary habits and reduce the burden of both food-borne and non-communicable diseases—such as cancers, diabetes, and cardiovascular ailments—within Iranian society.
Among the Center's long-term goals is to pioneer applied research at national and international levels, as well as to design and implement demand-driven, targeted research projects in the fields of nutrition, health, and food safety.
Other principal activities of the Center include publishing scientific articles in reputable journals and international databases; fostering collaboration with national production units and food industries; enhancing entrepreneurial skills among graduate students; developing comprehensive research laboratories; promoting public awareness of nutrition and healthy lifestyles; cooperating with relevant bodies to elevate public health standards; and organizing specialized forums.
