About us
Established in 1989, the School of Public Health at Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences has been at the forefront of health education in Yazd, initially accepting 25 students in the Bachelor of Public Health program. Over the years, the school has grown and adapted, fostering innovation and excellence in health education. Today, it offers a range of programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. levels, serving approximately 1,000 students.
Presently housed in a newly established building spanning an impressive 11,000 square meters across four floors, the School of Public Health is equipped with 40 classrooms, 20 laboratories, 4 workshops, and various other cutting-edge facilities. This dynamic space serves as the hub for academic exploration and practical learning, providing students with an environment conducive to both theoretical understanding and hands-on experience. Through this commitment to modern infrastructure and resources, the school cultivates an environment where students can flourish, conduct innovative research and develop the skills required to address public health challenges.

Founding Dean
Prof. Mohammad Hassan Ehrampoush, the distinguished founding dean of the School of Public Health, served as its inaugural leader for an impressive 31 years. He was instrumental in establishing the school, laying the foundation and steering its growth into a world-class institution.
During his tenure, Prof. Ehrampoush spearheaded the development and expansion of academic programs across all levels, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees, ensuring the school’s offerings met the dynamic demands of public health education and practice.
In addition to academic advancements, he oversaw the transformation of the school’s physical and technological infrastructure. Under his guidance, the school transitioned to a state-of-the-art facility, providing a spacious, modern, and comfortable environment equipped with cutting-edge technology to support education, research, and community engagement.
Although Prof. Ehrampoush stepped down as dean in 2020, he remains a highly regarded faculty member, continuing to contribute to the school’s development.
