About Us

The Women’s Specialty Clinic offers advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, supported by a team of gynecologists, infertility specialists, and experienced midwifery experts.

During the first visit, patients are examined by a midwife, who records their medical and family history and requests initial tests such as hormonal tests, Pap smears, and, if necessary, a hysterosalpingography (HSG). After reviewing the results, the gynecologist conducts a full examination, recommends appropriate treatments, and may advise diagnostic procedures such as laparoscopy or hysteroscopy.

Following these evaluations, couples receive counseling and a tailored treatment plan. Some patients require medication—specialized infertility drugs are available at the clinic—while others may benefit from surgery. In many cases, women become pregnant naturally during treatment and no longer require assisted reproductive techniques.

Operating Rooms

Puncture Unit

Established in 1989 alongside the institute, the puncture unit provides surgical procedures under anesthesia by gynecologists, supported by nursing staff and the ART laboratory team.

Procedures include:

  • Ovarian follicle aspiration
  • Aspiration of ovarian cysts (endometriosis and drug-related cysts)
  • Embryo transfer
  • Intrauterine insemination (IUI)
  • Other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for infertility

Laparoscopy Unit

Founded in 1995, the laparoscopy unit performed its first surgery under Prof. Abbas Aflatoonian. Today, it is equipped with advanced surgical systems and staffed by a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, gynecologists, obstetricians, infertility fellows, and IVF specialists.

Procedures include:

  1. Diagnostic laparoscopy
  2. Ovarian cauterization
  3. Laparoscopic surgeries (cystectomy, myomectomy, tubal ligation, adhesion release, salpingectomy)
  4. Curettage
  5. Diagnostic hysteroscopy
  6. Surgical hysteroscopy (septum cutting, polypectomy, Asherman’s treatment)

Patients are admitted to the Women’s Ward prior to surgery, undergo necessary tests, and then receive general anesthesia in the operating room.
