The 11th Yazd International Congress and Student Award on Reproductive Medicine and the 6th Congress of Reproductive Genetics, officially opened in Yazd on May 15, 2025.

According to Dr. Habib Nikookar, the Scientific Chairman of the congress, the secretariat received over 400 research papers and 180 posters on topics related to reproductive medicine from academic institutions in Iran and 20 other countries. Of these, 120 papers met the criteria for acceptance. In addition, three posters were selected as the top presentations of the congress.

The opening ceremony took place at the Javadi Conference Hall of Shahid Sadoughi Hospital, with the attendance of faculty members, students, and pioneers in the field of reproductive medicine. The event will run until May 17.

Over the course of three days, 15 specialized workshops are scheduled to be held at Shahid Sadoughi Hospital and the Reproductive Sciences Research Institute of Yazd, covering various aspects of reproductive health and genetics.

Yazd holds a distinguished position in the field of reproductive medicine as the site of Iran’s first IVF center, established in 1989, and the birthplace of the country’s first IVF baby in 1990, marking a major milestone in infertility treatment in Iran. Recognized as the National Center of Excellence in Infertility Treatment and Reproductive Medicine, Yazd continues to offer advanced care and attracts patients from across the country and abroad.
